A few weeks ago one of my dear friends from college, Emily, came to visit! It was so great to have her and we had so much fun just walking around Dublin, going out for dinner and drinks a few nights, and just hanging out. After a few days, her roommate Emma also flew over from New York and they went off exploring the west of Ireland together and then returned for one last night in Dublin. The boys absolutely loved playing with Emily and Emma and are still talking about it weeks later!
As I’ve mentioned before, it’s always so nice to see close friends (or family) over here — getting a good dose of familiar close loved ones always gives us a boost when we’re so far from home, and it’s fun to get to show visitors our favorite spots here. Emily was one of my friends who had always encouraged me to do this whole adventure abroad, and she introduced me to a blog about other American moms living in various countries around the world and what their experiences are like, which further inspired me. So, thanks Em for being so encouraging that, as a mom with young kids, I could make this work, and for coming across the ocean to spend time with us!! We hope you had a great trip — we certainly had a wonderful time with you (and Emma)!
