We arrived a week ago and today are one step closer to feeling more settled here! We found a house to live in! It was actually the first house we looked at yesterday with our realtor and we liked it right away but wanted to see a few others for comparison. We liked it so much that we went back today for a second look and then decided to go for it! It’s a great house and the area seems fantastic! It’s in an area called Clontarf which is a coastal suburb/village about a 10 minute drive from downtown on the north side of the city. The house itself is half a block from the sea, and there’s a long beautiful promenade all along the seafront where you can walk, jog, bike etc. It’s going to be awesome to take walks along there and let Isaac run free on the beach. The other huge perk of the house is that it has the second largest park in Dublin just a 10 minute walk away. It’s called St Anne’s and is a 500 acre park on land that uses to belong to the Guinness family. When you look at it on the map, you can see it looks huge but I was floored by just how big and full of open spaces this park is. In addition to a great playground, where we played for awhile today (pictures below), there’s a rose garden, an arboretum, a 3 par golf course, sports fields, paths and huge green fields, and a building with a cafe and farmers market every Saturday. We saw sooo many kids and strollers all over the park and the town in general. I think we are really going to like it here! We won’t move in until the end of the month, and I will post pictures then of the house, but it feels good to at least know where we will be going. Now we just need to find a preschool for Isaac. We’ve got a few appointments tomorrow at some Montessoris in Clontarf, so hopefully one of those will work out!

So glad your adventure is starting out so well. The pictures look great!

Now we need the address and a phone number. How long should we plan on staying after my conference which is at Trinity?
