One of my favorite things about Dublin in the spring and summer was the many festivals that pop up around the city and country. It seems every weekend there’s one — and often more than one — festivals on, and it’s been fun to explore some of them. From the Dublin Bay Prawn festival (featuring Dublin Bay prawns cooked in all different manner of recipes), to kite festivals, street-performer festivals, bicycle festivals, food festivals, boat festivals, and everything in between, you can easily fill your spring and summer with this endless array. Most of the time, there’s food and drink, live music, and of course, the ubiquitous family fun fair! Carnival rides and booths and bouncy castles were always big hits with the boys and often was the main thing that enticed them to check out the festival with us. We definitely enjoyed checking out some of these interesting and unique festivals. If you’re ever in Dublin in spring or summer, you can pretty much be guaranteed a festival of some sort will be happening!
